Reducing Stress and Finding Greater Peace
6 Week Mindfulness Course (Online) - Based on Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR)
Learn and deepen a variety of mindfulness techniques for reducing stress, being more deeply present, and cultivating greater peace of mind.
This is based on the MBSR mindfulness course from the University of Massachusetts that has been attended by hundreds of thousands of people around the world. The course is suitable for beginners – no previous mindfulness experience is required.
Studies at Harvard and other leading universities show that mindfulness reduces stress and increases levels of well-being.
The teacher, Peter Peterson, has trained in world-recognized mindfulness meditation centers in the United States and Asia and has trained as a mindfulness teacher with the University of Massachusetts. He has been teaching mindfulness for almost ten years.

Session 5: Mindfulness in interpersonal communication. New practice: friendliness/kindness practice.
Session 6: Continuing with mindfulness after the course.
Each course consists of a both practice and theory.
The idea of the course is to help you start your own mindfulness meditation practice, as this is the main thing that will make a positive difference in your life….
The best to develop the habit of doing mindfulness meditation every day, is to do practice with other people and to have a teacher guiding you live.
So we decided to give you live guided mindfulness meditations every day over Zoom.
You have the support of the group and it can also be a great way to get to know like minded people.
Each session consists of:
You have 3 times each day to choose from:
The morning session is recorded each day and you can access it from the members area, so if you can’t make it at that time, you can still do that meditation at any time that works for you.
After doing the mindfulness course, the most common thing people say is “that was wonderful, but now what do I do? Do you have some other mindfulness classes or courses to help me continue?”
To help people with this we now offer Deepening Mindfulness Live. This consists of evening mindfulness classes, guided mindfulness meditations and extended mindfulness practice sessions (daylong mindfulness retreats), all offered live over Zoom video conferencing.
The idea is to help people continue with and further deepen their mindfulness practice after the 6 week course. The mindfulness course will teach you all the foundational techniques of mindfulness… so, if for some reason you had to go off to a remote area with no internet access, you would know enough and have enough experience to be able to continue doing the practice by yourself. (This is a skill that can stand to you for the rest of your life). Even though this is the case, many people find it helpful to have continued support even after the course, and Deepening Mindfulness Live is designed to provide that.
There is an evening class each week and there are 30 minute guided meditation sessions every day at 8am, 1:30pm, and 11pm. You’re welcome to come to any or all of these. You don’t need to book in advance, you just log on to whichever sessions you like.
And once a month we have a daylong mindfulness retreat over Zoom to help you further deepen your practice.
This is basically like getting a whole second course for free.
Between classes 5 and 6, there is an extended practice session. This helps participants to further deepen their mindfulness practice by having and extended period of practice. Over the day we will do a variety of different mindfulness practices – sitting mindfulness meditation , body scan, walking meditation, mindful movement, and more.
This also give you a taste of what a mindfulness meditation retreat is like.
This is offered once a month, so if you are not able to attend on the specific day for this course, you can attend one of the future daylong sessions.
This accompanies the course and summarizes the main theory and practices that we’ll be doing over the 6 weeks. It means that say 6 months from now you’ve forgotten some point we covered in the course, you can come back to this booklet and refresh your memory
You will get mp3s of guided meditations for all the practices we do in the course. These are yours to keep, and they can help you deepen your mindfulness practice for years to come.
Total: 10 hours 25 minutes of audio.
This alone would be worth the price of the entire course. These are yours to download and keep. They’re in mp3 format so you can download them on to your phone, tablet or computer. (This is in addition to the daily live guided meditations over Zoom),
